SUSTAINABLE FASHION: HOW OUR COLLECTIONS ARE MADE.

Posted on 19 May 2021

Organic clothing <Alternative clothing <Ethnic style <Gypsy style

Following our own style and under the exclusive controls of sustainability, as designers and creators of clothing, we are obliged to share how is the manufacture of each garment in Arabesque.

This time we are going to talk to you about the creation and materials that have inspired us to make our latest organic collection.

The materials we have chosen have been cotton and jute.

Cotton: it is a natural material of plant origin and its cultivation is one of the oldest. It is a fabric that we love not only because of its natural origin, but also because it is a fabric that allows air to flow freely, absorbs sweat and lets the skin breathe.

Jute: also called the golden fiber. It is a 100% natural and ecological material. The main reasons that led us to use it were that its cultivation is rainfed and only feeds on rainwater. It is 100% biodegradable and recyclable, its carbon footprint is minimal, it hardly needs fertilizers or pesticides and also the fiber extraction is carried out mainly using biological processes and without the use of chemicals.

Once the fabrics were selected, we chose the colors and when we thought about this organic collection, the first thing that came to mind was the earth tones. Tones ranging from beige to green through browns and oranges. Tones that generate peace and evoke beautiful memories anchored to nature.

And then… the next step… cut and patterns. This is where we get our most creative part. Where we spend the most time working together with the tailor who brings all our ideas to life. We spent hours in his small workshop cutting and creating until we finally managed to capture the gypsy and ethnic look that characterizes this organic collection.

We have played with the asymmetrical cuts for the skirts and with the frayed ones for the tops.

Some comfortable baggy pants, harem pants and churidas pants, inspired by the traditional Hindu cut.

This time we have also thought about them creating unisex pants that adapt to all bodies and all sizes.

And now that you know the whole story… ..Prepare to enjoy it.
